Payphone's OK in a "oh god i can't get the hook out of my head" kind of way. Sad's pretty good. Everything else...uh...well...Freudian repression. Lots and lots of it.

Coming from someone who greatly enjoyed their first 3 albums (I even consider 'Songs About Jane' one of my favorite pop-rock albums of all time), this is awful. I listened to the entire thing and...it just sucks. Maroon 5 have lost all that made them stand apart from their peers. The funk influence, the clever lyrics, the actual drums, the decent guitar work...it's all gone. It's all been replaced with awfully generic lyrics, cookie-cutter drum machine beats, and basic synth lines to replace the guitar. The only song I legitimately enjoy on this album is one of the bonus tracks, "Kiss." It sounds more like their older material than the entire actual album does. What happened to the band making songs like "Harder to Breathe," "Shiver," or at least "Wake Up Call?"
