i just realized while listening to "How i Go" that it's about the movie Big Fish. i'm sure i'm the last person in the world to realize this

Yellowcard didn't kill punk. Nor did NFG. They never pretended with any great effort to be anything more than pop-punk.
Punk music should, if it stands on the ideals that it claims to embody, not be capable of dying. Granted, this makes it unstable, but that's part of the beauty.
Pop-punk is a different genre to punk. That's why it has pop- on the front of it.
This is a very listenable album with some cracking tracks, but it's not a 5. It's probably my most played album ever, but it's still not a 5. 4 at BEST, probably 3.5.

Just started listening to this again. Freaking awesome album, not a bad track on it.

Yeah i wish they stayed with this mature sound. Their new one was ok, but they went back to their roots.

I've only heard this and ocean avenue, mainstream swine that I am. Rough landing holly is baby-making music
|

haha don't worry, I'm terribly mainstream. Green Day are my favourite band, although i'm also obsessed with 80's metal

Wow, 5/5? Gimme a break. I would not start comparing these guys to classic 5/5 bands.
I was reccomended this album by a friend of mine who usualy has good music taste. I instantly regretted this purchase. Very, very bland music. Unoriginal song writing/structures, sub par lyrics, and just because there is a violin doesn't make it innovative.
I would also like to point out the immaturity of making comments such as 'rap isn't music.' If that really is your opinion then i would suggest you refrain from ever writing reviews again, as your credibility as an impartial critic is now non-existant. You may not like rap music (I'm not a huge fan), but i think you will find a lot of the more underground band and instrument-based hip hop is a hell of a lot more creative than anything 'call me sir' paul mccartney has done in the last 30 years.

Yeah i wish they stayed with this mature sound. Mature doesn't mean good, though. There is some good stuff on here, but the following album did a better job of mixing maturity with "quailty". haha don't worry, I'm terribly mainstream. Green Day are my favourite band, although i'm also obsessed with 80's metal Why would you even rate the new Cannibal Corpse if you're not even into that genre of music at all?
|
| |
Because I don't like it...?
I reckon 'Paper Walls' was far too much of a step backwards and has a lil' too much filler.
|
| |
I don't like rap or hip-hop but that wouldn't cause me to go through and rate albums a one just because I don't like them, because I obviously don't understand the appeal in the first place. I'm trying to be nice here, so I'll just drop it.

Lol yeah, Don't get me wrong, i don't go through and do that often. In fact thats the only thing ive rated 1.
|

Very, very bland music.
True except for the bland part
Unoriginal song writing/structures,
The structure used by about 80% of mainstream musicians,
so congratulations for nothin'
sub par lyrics,
Sorry, but this has some great lyrics on it
and just because there is a violin doesn't make it innovative.
But it sounds awesome, and I guess that's why the band
includes it in their sound, hmm?

^123 with everything you just said.

Sure Thing Falling holds this album above a 2 to a 2.5 for me

album rules face (:

This was a poorly done album. Grey, Waiting Game (which is actually my favorite Yellowcard song) and Three Flights Up (yes, the really short piano song at the beginning of the CD), are the only songs that I don't strongly dislike hearing.

Great review

This album is good but not a 5

good album

Kind of sad that they ditched this vibe and sound on the following album. This is easily the band's best album.
