Produced by As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis, Chelsea Grin's debut LP 'Desolation of Eden' is another predictably unpleasant deathcore album. Now a sextet, these Utah teenagers once more bring the unintelligible growls & squeals, even if the lyrics are improved this time around. The LP unfortunately begins as if it is a continuation of their monotonous breakdown of a self-titled EP. But following the ok re-recording of 'Cheyne Stokes', Chelsea Grin actually show some genuine promise. Even at 35 minutes in length, however, the relentless pounding of all instruments makes this a tiring listen. Recommended Tracks: The Human Condition & Elysium.

The breakdown in A False Sense of Sanity has one of my favorite uses of the "creepy" lead over junz thing.

Fuck no. You clearly haven't listened to a lot of metal.

On topic: The vox on this are pretty rough but it doesn't stop me from enjoying it. This is pretty much "junz" defined but it's a fun little record.

Same. Their song "Everlasting Sleep" has the same thing and it's really cool.

Gotta say his vocals were absolutely horrible on this album. They got way better on MD.

Listened to the first two tracks. It's not exactly bad but I don't really understand the appeal either. It just seems to float by
