Sooooo generic. Sleepwalking was great and the Hollow was good even though they mostly dropped the southern twang. I had high hopes for this and it just, well...is so damn generic. All the songs just blend together and nothing really stands out.

Yes, this album is generic, but damn, this album is MONSTER! I just can't find any reason to dislike this. Passionate vocals/screams, lyrics makes sense and personal, intense instrumentals, awesome production.

This album is disappointingly boring. And it also happens to be ridiculously overrated.

"Fortunately, for every 10 or so of said elitists, there always seems to be somebody who brings up an oh-so important and incredibly overlooked point; if the songs are concise, played well, and enjoyable, then what exactly is the problem with this (over-exaggerated) genericism?"

Because it's generic, it's boring. It's nothing new. I agree that it's played well, concise, well-produced, etc etc, but still. I doubt that this would impress anyone who has enough exposure to this genre.

I've had more than enough exposure to metalcore, particularly of this sort and I find it pretty good. Though I can see why people would find it boring.

I dunno, maybe it's just that I need to give this more listens...

So far though, my impression of this is that it is very bland.

It's not really that it's boring it's just immature mostly lyrically, the first half is really good but it gets tiresome towards the end. It's just catchy, not much else. I might lower my rating.

Didn't make as much of a splash as The Hollow, but it was an improvement in a lot of ways. Can't stop listening.

This album could have been a lot better. It sounds a lot similar to The Hollow but is way too over-produced and the lyrics are nowhere near as good as songs like "The Victim"

The lyrics to Prove Me Right and Miles Away are so generic, coming from the band that wrote Ghost in the Mirror, that's really disappointing

I think that Rise records just runs bands into the generic metalcore grinder until they stop becoming profitable. MMF would have been much better off at almost any other label. You put them in a lineup of 50 metalcore bands and they are suddenly lost in the sea. Sleepwalking had so much damn potential and they just said "fuck it".
