Simultaneously aimed at clubs & mosh-pits, 'Nightlife' is anything but boring! The debut LP from Montreal trancecore sextet Skip The Foreplay takes a metalcore base & infuses it with a strong dose of electronica. It's a unique - if overly ambitious & very gimmicky - sound which is listenable, but does grate after a while. The screamed vocals are at least intelligible, even if the lyrics are vapid. Most songs contain flashes of something impressive, but don't remain in the one place long enough to sustain it. It's a bit sad when one of your best tracks is an LMFAO cover - albeit a half-decent one. Recommended Tracks: DTK & Champagne Showers.

I dig their cover of Champagne Showers, but I haven't been compelled to listen to anything else by them.

The ‘Champagne Showers’ cover has gotta be one of the best things ever. I’m being completely serious. Captures my aesthetic predespositions so well, it’s terrifying. LOVE the menacing, autotune-drenched crooning and the electronic dazzle dominating the track. Not to mention those sensual male whispers during the breaks >////<
Like a perfect, menacing glow of something evil in the midst of an incredbly shimmering cityscape of a metropolis ruled by a technological overlord... Needs a genre of it’s own. Electronicore doesn’t cut it. Don’t care for the rest of the album, though.

Why is this so bad. How can a release from one of my favorite genres (Electronicore) be THIS bad.

Tbh this is really one of the few Electronicore releases I've actually disliked, almost everything I've heard in the genre is at least a hard 3 bordering on a 3.5 (mostly 4s and above though)
