Is this a spoken word album? If you can ONLY comment on the lyrics, you shouldn't be writing album reviews.

The album that started Kozelek's new stream of consciousness style - may still take this out of all 3 (Benji & Universal Themes being the other 2)

Loving this on first couple spins. I’m a bit surprised at the relatively low rating - stylistically this is like the exact midpoint between Admiral Fell Promises and Benji (unsurprisingly since it came out between those) and I don’t see what makes this that much significantly weaker than either of those.

honestly the praise for benji still astounds me. this sounded like a mixed bag of great playing and rambles when it came out. he didn't ramble like he did on here before and no one actually revisits old men rambling until you hit 35 or are something like doof.

I was 32 when this came out I think, and I liked the old man rambles then too lol

it's why I said it, you give off an "I was 8 years old and spiritually had my first cigarette and taste of regret" vibe
