Decided to reread this, having finally listened to the album. Now that I have some added context, the writeup comes across as being really good - even more so than I initially remembered it to be. Also -



marks an incredible departure that will resonate in the halls of post-hardcore and alternative rock for a long, long time.

the only songs that don't stand out as amazing are millimeter, open quotes and magnets caught in a metal heart. the rest are just.. flawless

it's a stretch to call this post-hardcore. pretty unique. like the perfect blend of shoegaze/post-rock/alternative/post-hardcore.

I've never really loved these guys though. full collapse is okay i guess and so was whichever album came before this, but like a city divided by light is just kinda... there idk never stood out
