Aw yeah, got free tickets for the liveshow. Should be awesome, although the album itself still is kinda underwhelming.

Next week baby!

My expectations are rather low, but I hope he'll play old stuff as well.

I think this is amazing. Have ever since I first heard it in April. Confused.

Edit: Having said that it's probably a 4 rather than a 4.5 - nonetheless still great.

Didn't much care for the review here. Deviant, your points are often solid and your writing is
beyond collegiate, but there are always a few aspects that strike the discordant note of
pretentiousness. There is that fine line to draw between being insightful and over-analyzing the
artist's often simple musical intention.

The album itself did come as a bummer for someone who heard Squarepusher's most acclaimed work
beforehand, though. It ultimately feels cold, and unfeeling. The emotive equivalent of playing
classic spastic braindance on a MIDI drum set and passing it off as the real McCoy. The music just
doesn't have the right formula, and in some aspects reminds me of how The Flashbulb is veering into
all the wrong directions, too.

I guess it's a more experimental album than most of the artist's work, but I find myself yearning
for another Hard Normal Daddy, or Ultravisitor, or even Just a Souvenir instead of the polished and
clinical feel of this particular collection.

"but I find myself yearning for another Hard Normal Daddy"

^^^^ Jenkinson desperately needs to dust off the ol' bass guitar and slap some more 8-bit drill funk.

It's what made him so interesting in the first place.

I really want to get into Squarepusher, I take it this isn't the place to start?

Man this album is amazing. I'm suprised this has such a low average rating. Stadium Ice just sounds like pure bliss right now. Sonic the Hedgehog all day everyday
