You're right, and some of them are exquisite.

Nothing says Christmas quite like the contorted steel of a derailed train hurtling on fire through the

Pacific Northwest. Lol, I kid :P I know what you meant, and I can kind of see it.

And yeah you're right, "backlash" might be a bit dramatic... it seems as though most people are at

least enjoying this.

"As for the album art, I like the current much better because it stands out."

I definitely agree with Xenophanes on this one. The other album art may have been more them, but this one's much more captivating to those that haven't gone out of the way to hear them before (like myself).

"I think the deluxe version includes 11 paintings (or album covers), one for each song."

This guy that was really into my ex-girlfriend did this once. He made her a burnt CD with a bunch of cheesy songs, and drew little pictures for each one. I'm sure mewithoutYou's take on the idea will be much less gay than his was.

This shit is ridiculous.

Weiss continues to be one of my all time favorite lyricist even if he's talking about sweets and animals. It isn't what he writes about that should matter, rather it is how he writes and forms the verses with these foreign topics that aren't his norm. Him being able to write about animals and other shit you emo kids don't enjoy is just showcasing his diversity as a songwriter and makes me love his words even more.

This far into their career as a band, I think he is doing the right thing. Who is sad all the time? Further, who wants to talk about it all the time? Coconut Estate, The Fox, the Crow and the Cookie and Fig with a Bellyache are some of the most awesome displays of creativity this band has produced and some people shit all over that album.

Bear's Vision is probably one of the coolest songs I've heard by these dudes and it is chill to the core.

Needless to say, I'm loving this.

I still haven't listened to my vinyl copy of this album. Maybe I'll make time for it tomorrow
morning.

great review gyro, you've inspired me to give this album another spon. I absolutely love Brother, Sister and It's All Crazy!. their post hardcore stuff never did anything for me although the lyrics were solid. if this is anything like Brother, Sister though I'm sure I'll find something to like
