I really like the chuggy ending to Versus though, it's very cool and atmospheric. New album needs a review from somebody. I'd probably give it a 4.0. But I can't be bothered to review.

It released officially just today, but the leak has been circling for a little while. This band was always quite special to me as I think they're the first band I "fell for" after I decided to expand my post-rock listenings beyond just Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It was like 6 years of listening to those 3 bands before I went "huh... I wonder if there's more out there". Can't believe it took me so long. Got into TWDY's Young Mountain first, which I liked, then soon after I discovered pg.lost and just blitzed their discography and was totally enwrapped in their sound for a while. There's a lot of nostalgia there. I don't think they're the same band anymore -- they're not as emotional or atmospheric anymore, but they groove so hard now that it's hard not to love them equally for different reasons. I'm glad they progressed their sound.

yeah, 'Its not me, its you!' was the first post-rock record I listened to and got me into the genre, so I love these guys for that. But agreed, their sound has progressed so much, it more like groovy and fairly upbeat post-metal with some post-rock elements to it rather than the very guitar driven post-rock sound of their early stuff. I gotta say I prefer their earlier material, but their newer stuff is still enjoyable
