can't wait for the second movie, gonna read all the books first though

See the thing I don't like is that there's a craze surrounding this movie, but no one's kidding themselves that it's going to make people think for more than a night or change their lives any more than Avatar
Everyone should watch 'Rabbit Proof Fence' instead (...when pigs fly of course)

That first time aboriginal actress gets my respect over our Hollywood casts and that Liam Whosworth

i havent read the book but the only problems i had with the movie were things with cutting out information that maybe would have helped, but that's a problem all book-to-movie adaptations have and the movie was already really long. i was pretty enthralled the whole way so i assume they did a good job.
the two things really:
1) i sort of intuited the food-for-tribute system (wherein you put your name in for tribute in exchange for food) but that wasn't really clear
2) katniss and rue's relationship could've been...more. obviously it's not unreasonable but katniss' reaction to rue's death seemed a little over-the-top given that rue had like eight lines and five minutes of screentime. i mean this could be defended as rue being the loss of the only truly innocent character but still. oh also spoiler alert
there were probably a few other things i'm forgetting but it was awesome otherwise

battle royale is better
|
| |
i saw a little of battle royale once
and i know that it came first but it pretty much just seemed like typical really exploitative creepy japanese shit (e.g. suicide club). although i doubt it was the first to do this type of plot anyways (running man?) so i'm not sure why people keep comparing it and the hunger games
|
| |
idk i havent even seen hunger games
|
| |
I normally agree with this reviewer, and honestly I never wanted to see this film.

yeah, people really need to stop comparing the two

Weird how these movie soundtracks work; does definitely seem like a cash grab.
Great review, though. Loved the movie, thought it was pulled off much better than the book was in some aspects.

it's probably high time that someone did something about the whole 'put every soundtrack under the same artist' deal, it's basically impossible to find anything on that damn page now

Ctrl F sir.

I picked up on these things as well - and I think reading the book makes those flaws more glaring. But as a whole, I'd say they did a pretty great job of staying true to the book.

twilight's soundtrack is so much better
|
| |
twilight sucks asshole though, but the soundtrack had some good tunes
and by good tunes I mean it had a couple radiohead/ thom yorke songs
