Is this better than Old Pride? I really couldn't get into Old Pride because the screaming was overdone yet somehow muffled by all of the instrumental work, which I enjoyed for a good portion.

Asking because I can't access a stream right now.

There is more of a focus on the screaming/hardcore this time, less obvious post rock influence.

the lyrics to Spine are fucking heartbreaking. my dad is alive and a big part of my life and he definitely has 3 or 4 decades left in him, thank God, but this album still kills me. i don't know what i'll do when he's gone.

Old Pride was more skramz/post rock whereas this is just post hardcore. The two are vastly different

I'd say it's more hardcore than post hardcore, but yeah pretty big difference.

Ignimbrite...yeah, my connection to this album is a bit weird. His heartbreak over his father I kinda turn into my heartbreak over my own body

It's not even. I dunno, this is as close to the pure musical representation of tragedy as I've ever found

Yeah I am, I mean, my perception and experience of tragedy anyway. This is a very personal 5 rather than objective. I can't see this album objectively.
