Agree. All very different. Although Noctambulant is hands down the best Technical Death album ever, and will likely never be matched. The one thing that keeps this from being a 5 for me is the lack of Karlsson solos.

There are some good riffs on this, but fuck me if this isn't self-indulgent half of the time.

If you were familiar with Bryssling's song writing process, you wouldn't think this. Perfectionism doesn't begin to explain it.

It's tech as fuck but I wouldn't call this musical masterbation, better crafted then that.

I'm not really interested in reading a dissertation that attempts to justify the act of masturbation tbh.

Then don't study 80% of classical music, lol. Composers like Bach and Mozart made a living off of constantly pushing the boundaries of technicality in music.

"Going back over this thread from the beginning. The amount of people who complain that this is structureless or is just wank really mustn't have listened to it since this thing is chock full of riffs that are resolute and fully developed throughout each song's very understandable structure (as mind-bending as it may seem at first)." Plus this isn't generic at all, once you get into it, it doesn't compare to any other tdm, it makes way more sense in terms of classical music.

"Noctambulant is WAY better".

Noctambulant is great but has its weaker moments. Each song on Incurso is flawless.
