in the first two series she's a minor character (she's only 14/15 at the time), the younger sibling of one of the douchebag main characters
in the 3rd and 4th series she becomes a main character and she's in the upcoming final 7th series too
as for whether it's any good. the general consensus is that the first two series are brilliant, the next two are ok-decent and the last two are awful. I've only seen the first 4, didn't bother after that.

Not really, I don't bother with national TV or anything of the like. And I generally don't care all too much. I mostly just look at what they're acting career looks like, but I don't really bother with names or their lives because quite frankly: a lot of 'artists' - especially acclaimed artists have a tendency to be complete nutjobs. Varg Vikernes syndrome and stuff.

I'm not sure, they just were. Comes down to the writing I think. The first two series were pretty
dark and gritty but afterwards it lost a bit of that, started rehashing ideas and started turning
into a mindless teenage fuckfest.

I don't even own a TV. Well, actors are rarely really like their roles. And if she woud actually do what she does in that TV show she'd probably a pain in the ass to work with and USUALLY that means people stop working with you until you sober up. (see Downey Jr.)

Yeah, I was mainly alluding to the partial attitude towards drugs, partying, violence and such. The former two probably more so than the latter and obviously dependant on region, social background ect.
I heard that certain big cities still have outer 'districts' or 'areas' that are in a rather bad shape, actually also the regions in which the same thing was the case during the industrial revolution afaik. For example Manchester, partly also London from what I gathered.

about how northern cities here are crime-ridden and much more working class than the south and how
"british" kids go out drinking, taking drugs and having sex etc

Hardly. We don't really have focussed places in that sense (as in whole 'districts' or anything of the like), the places are more like a certain smaller area at a certain time. For example a certain park in a city at nighttime. Or the "pub" at the train station. Places where the 'riff raff' hangs around.
As for the younger generations - it depends. I mean the whole whoring around thing seems to be a thing everywhere but people here are somewhat 'discreet' about their drug use. For example they don't want any pictures of them having blunts, they don't walk around in a populated area with a blunt in their hand or anything of the like. It's all a bit "secretive".

Something that really pisses me off here, and I don't know if it's the same elsewhere or not, is that
people love showing off how "ott" they can go. So if you go to a party you're guaranteed to find a
shit-ton of pictures on facebook the next day of it all and you're unlikely to escape them yourself.

Yeah, it's the opposite here - at least where I live. When I made pictures on a birthday last year some people asked me to upload them to a seperate platform and cut out the blunts/leave those pictures out which I did. I mean there are some groups that are all about going nuts and whatnot and actually have "puking scores" but those are groups of which mostly a majority of the group is 'questionable'. (I know some of one of these, and apart from 2-3 people they're all some dipshit pseudo-neonazis)
But it's not a general mentality. You also usually don't publically release pictures of people doing something stupid like lying in their own puke or generally don't release them if they're not OK with it. (the latter could actually get you into quite some legal trouble here)

Yeah I know what you mean, the whole displaying how FRIGGIN AWESOME THAT PARTY WAS - I don't get it either, at least not giving these things to the public/everyone access. If I'm taking pictures at parties I ask people whether they want them themselves, want an album or sth. alike and I don't do pictures of decadent shit.
It's more like catching shit that looks amusing or anything of the like. But yeah, that attitude also seems to correlate with the whole "what's privat space/privacy?" attitude and people throwing their private life in other people's faces when a lot of them couldn't care less.
