I'm aspiring to be the male Lana Del Rey. I'm gonna mumble sing a bunch of stupid shit about tampons and become a star.

everyone else gave this borderline junk ratings.

folks, here's how Iai rates albums:
he rolls a d4 +1 if there's a woman on it
the four sided die must have landed on a 3 this time

I'm not even sure I want to listen to this with all the controversy around it. =/
Seems to be more of a conversation piece then a collection of songs.

omg just shut up (@ Valerius)

Is it worth a listen or? I don't even know... I haven't even heard the singles.

yes of course it is it's only controversial if you're a music reviewer trying to take some unique stance on her
|

Okay cool. =P
I'm just trying to figure out if all the criticism is artificial, like just trying to be cool or
something. I don't know.
One critic gave it 0/10 That seems silly to me. =/

the singles are worth listening to. the rest of the album though, not really
|
| |
I might as well listen to the whole thing. =P
But I'll take your word for the singles being the biggest songs on the album.

As I said Burn To Die is the best song . When I have first heard the album , i wasn't so happy with it but after a few listens , I think it's an averege album. I think you should hear all the album . Maybe you'll have to listen a few times before you'll have stable opnion on the album. Despite the lyrics which are not very deep , I think the instruments are pretty good but not so generic so it may take a while to get use to it.

God damn, everything about this album is just so forced.
|

The album is a fairly enjoyable listen on first try. I recommend trying to listen to it in itself and ignore the outer bullshit, if that's possible.
Oh well. it's better than 2/5 (poor), but I don't think it holds up as something really great as a whole. A couple of real good highlights there tho (yeah, the obvious ones).

I love this album.

Her Voice Is Almost As Terrifying As Her Lips. Immediately Upon Hearing Of Her I Checked Out Her SNL Performance To See What All The Fuss Was About. Terrible From Both A General Listener And Musician Stand Point.

I have one big problem with this album and with the singer ( Lana Del Rey is not her real name):
The lyrics are awful ! She is doing bad name to the feminine gender . Why she can't sing about better things ?? The melody is still great and that's what makes me to continue and hear this album .
I hope she will understand that sometimes it's better to be true to yourself than want't fame and money .

I don't get why people are freaking out over Lana Del Rey not being her real name. Loads of artists
use stage names, why are people crying over it? Robert Allen Zimmerman's name isn't Bob Dylan but you
don't
hear people crying over that. =/
Any way, I listened to it for the first time yesterday. Production was amazing! and I loved some of
the sounds but from first listen; the vocals and lyrics are boring.
