Boney - check LastFM to see the four tracks I just chose to listen to off . this album and then take away the two I mentioned above which I was listening to for clarification purposes...and what are you left with? :D

I really don't see what's overwhelming about this at all minus the first and final songs, it's just really off kilter pop.

@Rik: I'd agree that this is her most creative but I wouldn't call it her best work.

@Doof: Funnily enough Poltergeist is my fav on here lol.

every copy of this i've ever downloaded has been messed up in some way (i have three copies and they all have a different number of tracks, some of the tracks cut off early, among other things) and it's really kept me from being able to truly appreciate this as much as shouso strip

I have two invites to give out to the website Jpopsuki. You can use it to download Shiina's discography, or any other Japanese music you can think of. Music from China, Korea and Taiwan as well. Usually in the highest quality.

PM me if you want access.

New Shiina, folks! Well, "new". To any of the people that complained before they don't like her jazz pop or big band leanings, you should ignore this.

The transition on this track was well done, I will say

this going to be on the new self-covers, or is this a standalone track?

Pretty sure it's a single from her new self-covers album. It'll all sound new to me anyway. I didn't recognize most of the tracks from her first one. It was basically like listening to an original album.

Haven't heard the first self-covers and her most recent album, so I'll get to those before the new self-covers album drops next week

dunno if I'll review it, but it's looking likely

I didn't like the last cover album but I really like this new song. (if a bit anti climatic)

This is one of the revelations of my year for sure, every song is simply awesome and brings new ideas to the table, with the right amount of pop sensibility and experimentation per song.

Impressive

Not sure how much music from Japan you listen to, but hopefully this album opened up a new musical world for you. Lots of good music to discover.

"Not sure how much music from Japan you listen to"

Pretty much none; Japanese pop culture is really unappealing to me, and the few JPop stuff I've heard confirmed that I needed to stay away from it. I may try to give it more attention.

You need:

Kuroki Nagisa - s/t

The stream is in the sound offs, truly brilliant JPop/JRock/Jazz, it’s a must
