yeah i feel like i should like it though so i dont denounce it, waiting for it to magically become awesome one day

Honestly I don't think Talib is that good. He has his moments and Quality is pretty neat overall but usually he just kind of has corny lyrics/rhymes. Mos Def is a pretty neat rapper but he's an idiot irl in terms of politics.
|
| |
eh, i don't understand some people. gabe you like kesha and bieber better than talib and mos def?
|
| |
lmao dont try to understand gabes opinions
|

@jdennis: Well that's kind of a weird comparison since they're very different genres. I only like My World 2.0 by Justin Bieber, and I don't really care for his Christmas album. I think Ke$ha's pretty great except Animal has too much filler. I think Talib Kweli has a lot of great stuff but he's really inconsistent, Quality is good though. And I never said I disliked Mos Def's music, just that he's kind of stupid in real life about politics. I just think Black Star is boring.

werd, i guess i just kinda group blackstar in with all the other shit that i listen to and don't know how to classify. i know they are different genres, but still... to be able to defend the bieb and keisha yet say talib kweli isn't that good... looked up Mos Def's political views, agree with some of it but some retarded stuff in there
|
| |
and to think, i thought this guy was a moron BEFORE i learned of his listening to beiber in his free time
|
| |
@jdennis: Well because Ke$ha and Justin Bieber have completely different musical context/appeal than Kweli. I wouldn't listen to Ke$ha for the same reason I'd listen to that kind of stuff.
@Malleus: Boy you are obsessed with me. I think you should be the President of my fan club.

trying so hard not to sound elitist right now, but seriously, what attracts you to ke$ha's music? I mean, I casually enjoy plenty of chart r&b and the like, but some artists are just devoid of anything remotely redeeming

I've always thought Black On Both Sides and Quality were both better than Black Star. It's a good album, but not as essential as people make it out to be.

@jeff: It's cool. And I don't really consider Ke$ha R&B.
Hmm. I guess a lot of it has to do with the catchy/bangin electro-pop production, her great ability to put a song together, how fun and anthemic some of her songs are while the lyrics are just being so ridiculously over-the-top it's hard not to have fun with them, or they're just really satirical.

@AsoTamaki: Exactly.
|
| |
her great ability to put a song together

Malleus, is it hard to go through airport security with that razor sharp wit on you at all times?
|
