This one's much cleaner than Bath. I didn't want to compare the two albums but I actually think this is better than Bath. I'm just a sucker for violins. Anything that has a violin is automatically better imo.

I have actually written a lot of music, but I wouldn't dare profess my newer hackneyed stuff as my older better songs, unlike Toby Driver did on this album. If these are older maudlin songs, then why do they have nothing separating this album from modern Kayo Dot albums, or even other post-rock albums in general? I wouldn't buy into what bands say about their own music so easily, since hearing is believing, and believing it with question or proof just shows how much you numbnuts really

don't get the whole "listening to music" aspect of listening to music.



4.5 is close enough. And I'm childish? Mr. "I'll say won't read this, but I'll skim it and make fun of it just because I disagree?"

P.S. Interpreting In Flames' work is like trying to make a two-story house out of 5 bricks: there's nothing to really interpret. The lyrics are mostly generic enough to not interfere with the music. Interpreting motW however is like the knowledge of God: one person can interpet one way, another in another way, and so forth. Saying you're constantly find new interpretations about them is fine with me. I just interpret them differently. You find them extremely thought-provoking, I'd say they what the band said, they just reinterpret what they find in the astral realm.



With the exception of this album. Even though they SAY it's work from Bath/LYBM era, it SOUNDS like Kayo Dot's work. maudlin was never this homogenous and post-rock influenced as Kayo Dot is. And trust me: musicians have lied about their work before.
