Good review. Thinking about this makes me remember the time my parents thought narcissistic cannibal was better than freak on a leash and that I was "getting into other people's (normal) music", a great misconception god damn you

I used to see this as a blight on their discography, and while it's not great, it paved the way for their new sound once Brian rejoined. The way they inject electronics into their new material works much better.
