Wind Waker had the greatest music from the series imo. Glad it's on here.
@MisterTornado This game knocks OoT out of the park. Hate to admit it.

Wow, I didn't expect to see this getting reviewed. The brilliance of these orchestral arrangements shows why Nintendo should have abandoned MIDI soundtracks in their games years ago. I agree with you that Majora's Mask should have been represented. It's probably my favorite Zelda storyline and the creepy/claustrophobic nature of the soundtrack would have made a great medley.

I have to admit this I don't recognise or remember a lot of the music from this, but it doesn't matter. This feels like a legit classical release in it's own right, not a gimmick like those shitty string quarter tributes to Limp Bizkit or whoever.
The Wind Waker medley is giving me chills, just reminds me of sailing around those oceans from island to island. What a beautiful experience.

when the ocean theme came in I just melted

Awesome as fuck.

This CD alone was worth the extra $20 for the Skyward Sword bundle.

I never beat Ocarina of time, that shit pisses me off. This and nobody trading me a Graveler or Kadabra is really gonna haunt me forever.
|
| |
All this talk makes me want to play Skyward Sword so bad, I'm hopefully getting it for Christmas.
|
| |
^ I can definitely see what you mean. OoT and Link to the Past switch out all the time for my favorite.
|
| |
I think Majora's Mask was a little better than Ocarina but I love both
I don't like Spirit Tracks much but I'll still finish it one of these games. Doesn't help that Mario Kart 64 made me really dislike trains.
Definitely need to get this album and/or borrow someone's Wii

Amazing games, amazing album

I think Skyward Sword is going to tie with Ocarina as my favorite Zelda ever. It's an incredible
experience. About 24 hours in now, fucking relentless. Get it as soon as you can all you who haven't

Wind Waker has been my favorite up until this point. Pretty much every facet of that game is close to flawless, and it had the perfect blend of uniqueness and series charm.
A few hours into SS, however, the game is easily on par with Wind Waker. Could definitely see it tying or even surpassing it.
CD is amazing too. Beautifully arranged and blissfully nostalgic.

@X3ni92
I definitely won't get my hopes up too much, and I'll be fine if this doesn't turn out to be my favorite game. I'm okay with WW staying on its pedestal. that said, fetch quests don't typically bother me (like the triforce shards in WW), and I've learned to be pretty forgiving with swimming controls. still going keep those in mind though, so thanks.
|
| |
@feanaro, no man...you don't know bad swimming controls, 'till you get to the part(s) in Skyward Sword.
dude the swimming parts that I've encountered were fine for me, maybe a little irky, but nothing too bad at all.

I've seen the graphics at their best (cinematic footage that wasn't prerendered, and some early sequences, which look like a divinely inspired fusion of the art styles of Twilight Princess and Windwaker) and at their worst (the supposedly impressionist forest, which to me simply looks like a n64 forest). How are the graphics for the most part, good or bad?
