As I'm getting into this band for the first time, I ask for some advice on their non-album material: What are the essential releases, and should I listen to them as I'm going through their studio albums (which I'm doing chronologically), or wait until I've finished the full-lengths and then go back through the other stuff? From what I've read it seems like there's a lot of redundancy among the EPs/comps (this contains a lot of Interstate 8, Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks has a lot of Night on the Sun, The Fruit That Ate Itself appears self-contained but not that many people seem to care about it).

Broke up and I’m relieved somehow

It’s the end of the discussions that just go round and round and round and round

And round and round and round and round

Jesus, they were just releasing this stuff as random one-off singles? This band in its early years were really something huh. This is almost as good as the full records, you wouldn't know it's a compilation.

Don't forget to also check out Ugly Casanova (Isaac's side project between Moon & Antarctica and Good News). It's a bit hit or miss but the good stuff is easily on par with MM's early stuff.

agreed about the first 3 songs. the midsection has a few songs i'm not in love with, which is preventing a higher rating for me

So if I’m going through their discog chronologically, where the hell should I fit this one in?
