This might be the album of the year for me, or metal album at least.
So good.
|
| |
Just heard this tonight. So beautiful.
|
| |
You recommended Pink Floyd's "The Wall"?
|
| |
I honestly fail to see the point of the second disc, I love ambient music but it's just dull, the first disc however...holy shit.

Giving this a whirl, hopefully it won't bore me like most djent does. :/

I really like the clean vocals, absolute 0 whine
|
| |
its weird french whine but this still rules
|
| |
I don't think they are high pitched enough to qualify as whiney
Maybe 10% whine at a stretch

I would be interested to know what particular cleans float your boat?

I agree
|
| |
I used to be really picky about high pitch whiny cleans but I dunno, I just learned to ignore them
|
| |
Oh yeah totally. The perfect album for me wouldn't have something that I "ignore" but I can definitely still enjoy an album with whiny vocals.
Although having said that I still dislike a lot of whiny vocals. But some I like. Whatever.

I think a lot of the time if the music behind the vocals is enjoyable for me, the vocals will be more appealing too

this was my 100th best album of 2011
|

Disc 2 is absolute garbage
|
| |
I pretend there was never any disc 2
|
| |
With this djent music, the vocals usually seem to be the element that makes or break the entire operation but luckily the ones on this kick ass to me.
And I agree with what you said earlier, about being much more picky about metal cleans than harsh.
