Hmm... I don't find the album "sterile" at all. I would've said it has more of a Dream Theater influence than anything else.
In fact, I was considering giving this album a 5 but some tracks like Nocturnal Conspiracy and the title track are just too noticably better than some of the others imo.

Yeah I agree with that; never liked Aquarius much. it's about 70 percent schlock. It has a few really great moments but roughly 10 minutes of great music out of a 75-minute album isn't the greatest ratio.
The first few minutes of Streams fucking rule though. It's the best kind of cheese.
