Not a Jay Z stan by any means, but his best work is up there with the greats for sure.

Crazy 2Pac takes on the last page

I think 2Pac is the greatest of all time because I don’t think anyone comes close to evoking emotion like he did. His performance in the booth is always electric. He never once lost his energy even though he recorded like 2-5 songs a day. He’s done so many different styles of hip hop that don’t really get appreciated. The common narrative that all his conscious style was lost when he went to Death Row is a harsh generalization (although admittedly a lot of it is unreleased material that has leaked over the years). But songs like Never Had a Friend Like Me, White Man’z World, and Until The End of Time are some of his best.

But again that raw energy and pure emotion is what makes him transcend everyone else to me. And his beat choice is pretty flawless too

^ good take. 2pac was one of the most charismatic and entertaining rappers on the mic because his delivery was so good. He kinda pioneered the style of melodic rap that's so mainstream today.

It's all subjective. I appreciate that information but it doesn't make me enjoy him more tbh

Yeah I’m a 2Pac fanatic so I can’t really explain or articulate myself very well about him but I try.

I dont think colton has emphasized enough that anyone who dislikes 2pac has bad takes yet

i think wordplay is a little overrated in hip hop

pac was never going to dazzle with crazy schemes, but he could more than hold his own

I just dont dig his delivery...maybe that makes me a false hip hop fan? Idk. I was listening to hip hop when he was big but I wasnt really paying attention to pop culture. Still don't really. I just wanna throw on some music I can vibe with. I dont think 2pac is bad at all, I think he was pretty damn good actually, all things considered. He's just not one of my goats like he was for so many people. But I respect his status in the culture, I just don't personally jam him often.

A lot of the things he was saying on Killuminati weren’t said before or since. It’s an album I really can’t believe exists from his lyrics to the hooks to the beats. It’s just incredible.

Like look at the first verse of Hail Mary:

Bow down, pray to God, hopin' that he's listenin'

Seein' niggas comin' for me through my diamonds when they glistenin'

Now pay attention: bless me please, Father, I'm a ghost

In these killing fields, Hail Mary, catch me if I go

Let's go deep inside the solitary mind of a madman

Screams in the dark, evil lurks, enemies see me flee

Activate my hate, let it break to the flame

Set trip, empty out my clip, never stop to aim

Idk about y’all but just reading it gives me chills. He knew his demise was near and everything he said around the summer of 96 reflected that.

if anything, of all the big rappers of the 90's I'd say Pac was the easiest one to throw on and vibe with. you could just put on All Eyez On Me at any time and it would bang really

"I don't like 2pac" isn't a bad take Evilford lol that's just an opinion

"I just dont dig his delivery...maybe that makes me a false hip hop fan? Idk. I was listening to hip hop when he was big but I wasnt really paying attention to pop culture."

that makes sense cause his delivery is different than most 90s rappers
