Please do. It's one of my favorites of 2007.

Me, Desert Call is their best one. However, the video for Merciless Times was recently released more officially, though it remains unlisted (10/4 was its initial YouTube upload), and the quality sounds five times better than it used to. This doesn't seem to be a disappointment anymore.

Overall meh. A few songs are great, but it sounds quite far removed from the band I'm familiar with, and only one is among my favorite Myrath tracks. Hope it sounds better outside Spotify.

Good review, although a bit short. I think you could have talked more about specific songs and stuff. I still pos because it's well-written and the Micheal Jackson reference was awesome.
''Wide Shut'', ''Under Siege'', ''Braving The Seas'' and ''Sour Sigh'' are my favorites at the moment.

Album is more coherent as a whole than Desert Call, and has better production. Really catchy album, and takes a couple of listens to realize that it's not the same song over again.

I have too many favorite songs to pick just one haha! 'Merciless Times' always hits me hard though.

Me, it's Tales of the Sands. I keep this one on repeat; the shred solo is the weakest part of the song, somewhat hinting at why I didn't dig the album first listen. It should arrive tomorrow with the new Anubis Gate and the most recent Hourglass, et al, and then a final opinion can be formed. I would hate to dislike this CD from such a talented group.

Buying a lot of albums this year eh? :P I'll probably end up buying this and the Anubis Gate album too.

There are loads of awesome albums this year. Dream Theater is quite high, Anubis Gate and Cynthesis are so far well up the ladder, the new Haken looks to be an easy top three, and Redemption is holding out fine. One more album worth looking at this year is Theocracy's "As The World Bleeds" - some crunchy, melodic, somewhat technical and all-around epic power metal.

Yeah I'm lovin' this year, and new Theocracy? :O Thanks for telling me man!

Merciless Times is pretty much the one I like the less. Too simple and has no great moment in my opinion.
Tales of The Sands is great, the intro kicks ass and the arabian chorus took me by surprise.
An yeah this year is great for music. Dream Theater, Myrath, Symphony X, Protest The Hero, Textures, Hope For The Dying and Fair To Midland's new album are all great (and I think I forget some).

I have the album and gave it a spin. Still the weakest Myrath album by quite a bit, but there were more songs I enjoyed this time. 1 and 2 are much better, 7 was quite a standout, and 9 improved a bit. Dawn Within is currently the worst track in Myrath's discography.
A shame I don't enjoy it more...it's the first album I've ever been credited in, and a low 3.5 score is painful.

@jybt
Yeah ''Wide Shut'' is great and ''Dawn Within'' may also be my least favorite.
