Because it's obviously less biased and more informative?

"That's fine but you are missing the point. The point is even if you don't like it you cannot *TOUCH* this god damn album. This is a perfect album."

Show some goddamn respect for others' opinions, or else you'll be treated like shit around here (as you have been in this thread). Acanthus has been very patient with you, something which I've struggled doing, and you should at least honor that from him. It's called opinions, bro- I think this album kinda sucks, and a few others do too. But there's nothing inherently wrong with this; we're not doing it for the lulz.

And when an album is rated low on Sputnik, like Justin Beiber, who says that nobody can enjoy it? Obviously some can enjoy it, but people who take the time to go on a music discussion site to find fresh and new music likely won't be interested in the unoriginal style of Justin Beiber's music. It's not that it's awful, it's just not that good, and has certainly been done before. Sputnik has its logic the majority of the time, trust me.

A website that doesn't specialize in music naturally won't have reviews that are as credible as those where the average user studies more music. I thought Tool was awesome until I heard many other bands that I just much prefer.

That's just it, this site doesn't specialize in music. This site specializes in trend setting and groupthink.

No, to be frank it's not respected and therefore becomes moot when used in a discussion such as this.

It's cool that you love the album so much and are devoted to Maynards sound found therein; I just don't enjoy this as much as the bands later albums, and to me this isn't nearly as influential an album as it must have been when it released.

That argument can be used for videogame sites, pc magazine websites, and any other site that gives opinions. You often use "think" in your points, I'd hope you also use the term when applied to your thought process as well.

Not at all, actually. I find albums I like on here, and ignore those I don't. And listening to the reviews on Amazon isn't groupthink? Your contradictions seem to be evidence that you should stop

This site has almost no rap. This site troll rates Beiber and Nickelback and other popular shit(not that I care for it but I think it's bullshit). If you are just here for new music, then why troll rate Beiber or some other band to super low ratings because it isn't your taste? This site only attracts a certain type of musical taste, it isn't the most objective site of music.

The fact I can go to amazon(or another site) and get a more rational, well-rounded review on something tells me this site is close minded and full of tools.

Classical music isn't represented here, rap isn't represented, indie isn't represented here, and pop damn sure isn't represented here. That is too many critical genres ignored or trolled for me to believe in any altruistic musical story you are trying to paint.

Indie music has a featured review almost everyday, other than metal it really has become a staple of

the site so I beg to differ with that comment. As for the rap there ARE users who are really into that

type of music, quite devoutly so I might add, and if you want rec's in general you go to them.

As for the other genre's classical gets reviewed from time to time, as does pop(far more often than

the latter). Sputnik has it's cliques there's no denying that, but overall the better known users know

what they are talking about. That's my main issue with Amazon, I have no backing for the reviewers,

who are they? I can google what little facts they may provide, but unless they have other reviews

under their belt I really don't trust just one; an amalgamation of the reviews perhaps, but never just

the "top rated" one.

If you really think rap, indie and pop aren't represented here at all then you clearly haven't looked at all. Indie is all over Sputnik these days, pop music is reviewed incredibly fairly (look at Lady Gaga's reviews- some of our biggest users are avid Gaga fans), and Kanye West's latest album was in the Top 3 albums here last year. Also, you might want to look at, you know, those tabs on the top of the page. There's one that says each of the genres you mentioned Sputnik has none of.

People on Amazon will just be bullshit fanboys; I wrote a RHCP review on there when I was 10, as an example. There are some good Best of (insert year here) lists on Amazon, to be fair, but overall the reviews aren't that great, and lord knows why you'd want to go to a website like that for reviews. There's a large userbase here, many different types of people, and there are always contrasting opinions- you just don't look for them because you don't want to see them.

This album does have incredible production. It deserves a 5 just for how god damn good it sounds. I'm not a big fan of Radiohead, but their Pablo Honey album sounds incredible, too. The best sounding albums with full dynamics and state of the art recording and mixing are between 1991-1995.
