"So we’ve got enough to make an album."

"I think, for me, to not do that, wouldn’t be right. I had this conversation with someone the other day who actually went as far as to say Scott would probably be pissed off if we didn’t get off our asses and finish what he started. Also, these songs will exist long after us on some kind of hard drive somewhere. And if someone finds it and they’re demos and they get released in that form, that doesn’t feel like it would be OK. At least this way, we’ll have control over the release, we’ll work on them to a point where we’re all happy with them and feel like Scott would’ve been happy with them in terms of recording."

Ho-lee shit...it sounds like we're going to get another FR album sometime in the future.

Would be the most bittersweet experience ever, given Scott’s penmanship

Oxford Collapse's cover of I Feel Better, Manchester Orchestra's cover of My Backwards Walk, The Twilight Sad cover of Floating In the Forth, and Aaron Dessner/Lauren Mayberry's cover of Who'd You Kill Now? all sound intriguing to me.

Don’t think I’ll be assigning a rating to the covers comp. I love the idea behind it and the mental health cause but there’s only a couple of covers I actually like lol.

I forgot that I’d ordered the CD which just turned up, and it comes with a booklet of handwritten notes from all of the cover artists. It’s really lovely and contextualises the versions.

One of my biggest regrets was not saying 'Sup to Scott in Minneapolis. I was having dinner around the corner from the venue where the band was playing that night, and they were all at a table maybe 5 feet away from me. I didn't want to bother them, but now feel like a pussy.

I was the first person to turn up to their gig at St John at Hackney Church in 2016 with my girlfriend at the time. Saw him walk around from the tour bus through the front entrance and gave him a smile, but didn't want to fawn. That was the greatest gig I've been to and it was the second of three times I saw them.

Adolf can attest, that gig they played in Minneapolis was one of the greatest things ever. Prince had just died 4 days prior, so everyone was bummed, but Scott did a stunning acoustic solo cover of Purple Rain to ease everyone's mind. Shit was amazing.

Saw them in Chicago at Metro in 2010 and then again at Thalia Hall for this album's 10th anniversary tour. Two of the greatest shows of my life.

So glad I found this band but also a bit bummed that I found them too late. Their lyrics are so gut-wrenching.
