There was a time in my life where I couldn't stop listening to this album. And I was never a huge Beatles fan but Abbey Road did a number on me.

It’s gone back to be their number one for me.
Constantly changes mind.

Interesting take. My "issue" with diving into MMT is that all the masterful tracks (I Am the Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Penny Lane, All You Need Is Love) are backloaded; everyone forgets you have to trudge through a bunch of comparatively middling Side A songs like Fool On the Hill, Blue Jay Way, and Your Mother Should Know to get there.
(Assuredly the "good stuff" outweighs the "bad stuff" and the "bad stuff" isn't even "bad", per se, rather it's just totally eclipsed by the "good stuff".)

Blue Jay Way is probably the best George song (in the Beatles catalogue anyway) lol
much prefer Fool on the Hill and Your Mother to the majority of late Beatles Paul tracks too, MMT was the last record he rly cooked on before stuffy dance hall bollocks cooked *him*

I mean neither of you are wrong - it's more like, Side A is very good. Side B is a borderline pop masterpiece. Ergo, Side A seems even slighter in retrospect.

For some reason I wanted to dive into the Beatles tonight just because. Wasn’t expecting much but Octopus Garden is a monster jam.
