Don't Bring Me Flowers off the Pure album & its deconstructed version Flowers from the Merciless EP is pretty atmospheric IMO.

These guys are playing with Neurosis & YOB on Saturday in London.
It's a long journey to get there but I'm seriously considering it.

If it’s within reasonable travel distance for you, I’d go for it. Neurosis/Godflesh/YOB on a tour together would be a dream tour lineup for me here in the US.

neurosis and yob are both great live. wasn’t impressed with godflesh tbh.

industrial in general doesn’t always lend itself to great live shows. godflesh certainly wasn’t the only band in the genre that i dig that just didn’t do it for me in a live setting.

Bands like godflesh seems to be very introspective on stage. I'm fine with them being static the whole show. Their music is not something that you would like to run from one point stage to the other.

“I would love them to make another album like selfless.”
I’d hope the next GF album is kind of like what Selfless/Merciless/Messiah era GF would sound like w/present day GF.
I’ve noticed a pattern w/their reformation albums. AWLOBF is almost a reboot of Streetcleaner as far as the heavy, hard hitting riffs (minus the atmosphere and drone parts and more downtuned). Post Self is more introspective, atmospheric, and experimental kinda like how I feel about Pure and the rhythms (esp. on Parasite) kinda give me Us & Them vibes at times.

I still needa check their reformation albums

A World Lit Only By Fire in hindsight is one dimensional sonically, but arguably their heaviest album ever in a riff sense on account of Broadrick using an 8 string on the album. He ditches the 8 string on Post Self which has a lot more variety than the former and as I mentioned more atmospheric. Both don't exactly reinvent the wheel for the band but I still think they're pretty good albums worth listening to.

yeah, considering your current Godflesh ratings are all 4 and above, you definitely need to check those out
