"For most of this album though, his voice is bearable, especially compared to most death metal vocalists."
Seriously? I'd take any singer over Dave, he's awful.

Never understood all the hyper about this band. Holy Wars is good, but nothing amazing. In the early 90's maybe it would've been, but definitely not now.

Seriously... AJFA over this? I can see RTL and MoP, sure, but only a true Metallica fanboy would take the bland ass AJFA over this one. I also agree with MEGADETH > Metallica any day though m/
hell... Megadeth over almost any metal band all day for me honestly... love these guys

if that's being a fanboy, then I am. Sorry but AJFA is not blad, but awesome, and in my humble opinion better than RiP.

I agree with many that RIP is a classic of the genre, though I do think it is somewhat overrated. Let's face it, there were far better technical/progressive Thrash albums released around this time (See Dark Angel, Heathen, and Coroner) that easily surpass this album. It's the pinnacle of Megadeth's 80's Thrash/Speed Metal output, only surpassed, IMO, by 'Peace Sells ... but Whose Buying?'.

Just saying, I disagree with all of your criticisms of this album. Dawn Patrol is enjoyable on its own, as opposed to an intro track which are completely skipable unless you want to listen to the album from start to finish. Take No Prisoners IS fast, aggressive, and has a lot going on, but it does it well. One of my favorite Megadeth songs. Hangar 18's extended solo section is the centerpiece of the song, and i've never found it overlong, from the first time I heard the song until now. Five Magics is the only one I slightly agree with on here, but I still really like the intro.
Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, not trying to say you're wrong, just that I don't think as many people agree with it as you would think.

The first two tracks are too good, but the album never lets up even after that.
Good review, but I disagree hard with your opinion of "Hangar 18."
