Listen to "The Serpent Kiss" and then "Paradise lost".

yeah i have that whole album. its good but the lyrics/singing is just really cheesy to me. dude is talented though. whole
band is.....romeo is an unfairly good guitarist.

saw this band at the starland ballroom a few years ago. the drummer is from like 15 minutes away from me, and my
friend's dad knows him, so we got to meet the band and shit. good times

I've never thought Symphony X were very cheesy compared to their genre-mates.

FLY WITH ME FOREVER HIGH AND WITH THESE WINGS WE'LL SET THE WORLD ON FIRE

Yeah they're pretty cheesy.

Enjoyable to me at least, album had its highlight. "When all is Lost" is just to epic.

Way too much chuggery, gets really exhausting.

Goddamn, this is right up my alley. Symphony X are the most technically proficient band I've ever heard... so they can keep doing what they do as long as they continue to play like demi-gods.

But there's more to music than technical proficiency.

Yup, I thought it was obvious that they're more than that. The melodies, choruses, and epic symphonic moments show they're much more than just a technical band.

Everybody's got their stroke. When I'm in the mood for some chunky, epic riffage, this is it. I can see how someone can become jaded with it, but moderate yourself and you'll be alright.

Yeah this band is much more than just technically challenging parts. I think I'm moderated plenty, but this album is really hard work to get through in one sitting, and the band (Romeo) has been getting heavier since The Odyssey with it being the most exhausting on this album. The production is fantastic but the songs definitely need variety imo.

I see where you're coming from. It can beat you about the head if you're not in the mood for it. But man, it delivers when you're ready.

This album is really tiresome dude, i agree 100% with the review, SYM X didnt progress a bit with this one, instead they stay in a confort zone for more than 1 hour.... a really boring hour, might i say. There`s only one song i listen from this, that imo has great songwriting (When all is lost)

When all is lost is easily the best track, it has some variety at least.

We`ll see about that.. dont be surprised if you just skip whole tracks of this rec, and end up listening to the only song that`s good (When all is Lost)

BRB, time to jam V : )
