Like no disrespect to the man, RIP, but can we not always do this? If you were actually a huge George Michael fan before then that's cool, but for everyone else don't bandwagon and act like you cared just because he died.

I mean considering the man made really solid music at least let the people enjoy what he built his career on instead of acting like people who do give a shit about the art he created should be prohibited from listening to his hard work

It's just shitty elitism on his end. "I cared about him and his music BEFORE he died, you aren't allowed to listen to it now and then feel bad about him!"

I myself had queued a few of his albums to listen to just a few days before he died, just because I heard Last Christmas on the radio. But I didnt get to any of them before he died and now I consider Listen Without Prejudice a classic album, but not just because George Michael died. But I guess I'm not allowed to like that album or feel sad that he's dead and that I never got the chance to really get to know about him just because I was too late. Thats how it works when you have an elitist mentality. The only way you could make it worse would to pull the "name three of their albums" card.
