yeah i admit i didn't really like it at first, but then i made the comeback and now there's no turning back

hit me instantly but i was following them around all that initial hype leading up to the release of the album

LOL I read this thinking I was in the rtj4 thread and was like damn wow that was quick



But agreed I really liked it when it came out and never listened to it ever again until like a year ago I check out a couple songs and honestly was not feeling them at all

I feel like this came out during a time that sputnik (and elsewhere) was really into a certain type of eclectic indie shenanigans that did not stand the test of time. I think it was exciting, colorful, and new for a minute but then became a bit kitsch. Wu lyf, tuneyards, alt-j, born gold, yeasayer, glass animals, stuff like that comes to mind as a representation of that. I think people still demonstrably get fired up about the stuff (everything everything also comes to mind) but the hype wagon is considerably less apparent.

Wu Lyf is 20x better than all the others you mentioned tho
