I love the "crazy" Mars Volta, but it sometimes bugs me that they go off into other shit when they're doing a live performance. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just, "What!?"

I saw them live in the 8th grade, although I pretend it didn't happen because I hadn't heard any of their music before then, and had my musical tastes blossomed by then I would have still not enjoyed it, i dont think. They seem like the kind of band that's easier to get into starting with studio releases.
