Ok so earlier I did a writeup for the new album and I talked about it in a pretty lukewarm matter. Im listening again and yeah its unfocused and I miss the more black metal leanings, but the atmosphere is absolutely top fucking notch.

Its more atmospheric and beautiful than :Tahoma: but it's less immediately entertaining than it. If you didn't like :Tahoma: your really not gonna like the new one at all. Closest thing I can relate it to is Agalloch's White EP

New one is like take the bm from this but add more acoustic and a looooooooot more folky clean singing. I liked the straightforward style of this album, but the increase in dynamics is appreciated. Only listened to it all the way through once, but that wasn't a very focused listen so idk how I'd rate it. I'm hoping for a 3.5 but idk. I think the guitar sound is a bit less full and powerful than it is here, which is probably my main complaint.

i listened to passage a couple days ago, however, I don't remember it well. I think it turned into great background music for better or for worse. great atmosphere, lots of nature ambiance. i'll need to listen again. ----FWIW, I don't ever remember listening to :Tahoma:.

Great album to listen to a few times a year. Infinitely better than their self-titled album, so if you didn't like that and so won't check this out then you're only doing a disservice to yourself.
