The Stand Ins grew on me incredibly, and i think this will do the same. As for all the complaints about the album being too dense or how their simpler material is better, i don't agree at all. They've given us several quality albums with that sound, and I like that they're stretching out a little.

I don't know if anything can quite live up to For Real and Black, although Mermaid, the track left off this album, is superb.

Ha, my English teacher at high school got me onto these guys. Seems like they resound with all teachers of the liberal arts.

This review must be great for people who have heard their other albums but for people who have never heard of them it doesn't even tell you what style of music this is.

But why? If this is a relatively new band that no one has heard of then I 100% agree with you. But Okkervil River have been around for a long time and are widely known so I wrote based on that premise.

Just heard these guys are going to be at a music festival I'm going to... This looks worth checking out
