Glad you like it boss, it is indeed excellent

This is certainly more of a cohesive effort than their previous outings. Although I must say that The Seldom Seen Kid is also pretty amazing.

Agree with both of those points. There's a better flow to this album for sure but Seldom had more obvious hits
|
| |
Certainly a more mature outing. Possibly their best work next to Cast of Thousands but I do feel the band need to expand out. Build A Rocket Boys feels sort of safe and they never reach that little further to deliver something ambitious or profound.
Hopefully with their next record they go back to testing waters, new ones of course. =)

Tbh I'm quite happy with the music they make now. They stand out from the crowd and they just make honest, beautiful songs.
|
| |
Exactly. I think this band deserves a little more attention than they are getting right now. The Seldom Seen Kid doesn't even have a review...
|
| |
Yeah, they certainly deserve more attention, I just wish they could be more daring like other bands
today.
It's a solid sound they have but I'd love to see how subtle it can be or how grand, in contrast. At
times; it feels too habitual.

I do know what you're saying, but I don't think about it for long when they sound this good.
Was thinking of reviewing tSSK, may do it at some point
|
| |
Basically what I mean is that this sound won't keep them for long. It was nice now but I couldn't take another ten songs of it.

We'll have to wait to see where they go from here man. Prob have to wait a few years though goddamn

Lippy Kids is amazing, and I think you hit the nail on the head with the Sigur Ros parallels. Great review mate.

The Birds is probably the best track of the year for me, and thats saying a LOT

'With Love' is sooooooo cheesy. XD
Some great tracks on this though. I still love listening to it.

This album is fantastic! Disagree about With Love - the first 3 tracks on here are all home runs.
