Really harsh, but still I understand, the album does suck. I think you exagerated on how bad previous albums were

"Fat Lip" and "In Too Deep" were my jams back in the day, but needless to say, I won't be checking this out. great review, I like your scathing ones haha

Chuck and DTLI? were awesome but Underclass Hero was a huge piece of shit so I won't bother with this.
Also, Wymbley sounds like Aldus Snow in the beginning of the title track

It's funny how the album's overall rating went down as soon as this shit-awful review went up.

Beg your pardon? the average actually went up.

but without a collection of good, hell, just descent songs
Decent.
Review takes too long to get started, really, and the last three paragraphs (where the meat of the argumentation is) is slightly below what I would expect from a Ponton piece. It gets the job done, but I've seen you do much better Jared. That said I do admire your work rate. You're making us all look bad! ;)

Revolting, messy, lazy, and undeniably Sum 41, Screaming Bloody Murder is a dead band moaning in its grave.
don't know why but I liked this line.
I never liked this band much at all, or payed attention to them. interesting to know they've plummeted like this.
Good review here, can't pos but have an imaginary one.

I actually hate my last few reviews and the build up to the main argument is needed since much of whAT I argue is
founded upon the opening. Thanks for the crit though irving

you're so wrong w/ some of the shit you wrote.
Sum 41 merely seem to be replicating the “Fat Lip” formula – see singles “Still Waiting” and “Underclass Hero”.
granted uh sucked and def did rip off fat lip, still waiting is FAR heavier and punkier than fat lip and sounds nothing like it.
With this vocal melody, the band fought and suffocated itself through approximately four and a half albums of pop punk in the Green Day-blink-182 vein.
exactly how did "chuck" sound pop-punk or green day/blinkish?

sigh, it went up from a 3.0 to a 3.2. don't be stupid.

just because you turn your guitar amp up doesn't mean the melodies change.
As far as songs sounding similar, that's all opinion anyway.

I don't really understand this review. Are you reviewing the album or the band in general?
To me, it simply sounds like you just don't like this band. You've never liked them.
I'm not saying that you need to like a certain band in order to review them, but it seems like actually hate them.
Somebody wouldn't ask me to review a Chris Brown album or whatever other hip-hop music is popular today, simply because I cannot stand that kind of music. Does that mean it's a bad album? Absolutely not, but it's just not for me. It never was, nor ever will it be.
If you are going to review something, a more neutral stance should be taken.
When you literally tell a band to stop making music, you've crossed the line as a reviewer. Sum 41 has a ton of fans. Don't expect them to quit any time soon. They sell out shows from Tokyo to London and Las Vegas.

fuck neutrality you chicken shit

Incredible
For the record I used to love this band. Then I realized they were a one trick pony, no matter how they tried to present their sound. Sum 41 is washed up and this album is a prime example of why.

It's funny how little you know about the band. They've never been anything like blink-182 first of all. The only pop punk albums they've written are Half Hour of Power and AKNF, since then it hasn't been pop punk so I don't know what the fuck you're smoking but you've got that completely wrong.
You compared Fat Lip to Still Waiting somehow? They're nothing alike, once again you're smoking something really bad, might want to go see someone about quitting that.
You spend about 5 seconds reviewing the actual album, so why is this an album review for SBM when it actually isn't?
You name several songs and what they ripped off, when listening to the actual songs they're nothing alike.
You have no idea about the band itself, you just don't like them because you've read reviews that they suck. Listen to them and make your own opinion you fucking idiot.
Although I know the album is not a 5/5, it's at least a 3.5. This review was terrible in construction and makes no sense at all. I highly doubt you've even listened to the album more than once.
Learn to write proper reviews or get off this website, moron.
