The problem is that they don't seem to want to improve. I could accept average and fairly boring playing on a first release, but 5 years later and we get little to no improvement? Naw. Fuck this band.

I dig the hell out of Echoes of an Era and Instinct. They have a great feel and the lyrics are
actually very well written. The rest of the album sucks.
"I knew that this was the last thing that I had to prove. Have all my struggles amused you? This was
the hardest thing to do. I chewed through the chains, with broken teeth in my mouth I was finally
free. Free in my own mind, but I was always trapped inside".

Give it an average like me. No song on it is horrible at all just because Lech is a fantastic drummer
and Nick is a great bassist. Only a few are actually enjoyable though.

Meh. I'd rather not contribute. I don't 'hate'. I simply compare and contrast to Tull. That band sets the bar for everything in the musical realm.
