Every time I have come across an Opeth album people always claim that it is the GREATEST Opeth album but when I picked up Damnation I freakin' snapped!!! People told me: ''It is all about acoustic guitars man!!!''. Great!! I love acoustic and melodic guitars I said to myself, but I didn't knew that the album was going to be completely soaked of it!!! GAH ***!!!! I thought that Damnation was going to sound similar to the previous albums. I knew that is was going to be unusually large amounts with acoustic guitars but I thought that there should've been some death metal influences, at least in the vocals, not nessecarily instrumentally. But no!!!! This was just like the members of Dethklok said in one episode regarding acoustic guitar music: ''That's Grandpa Metal!''.

The overall guitar peformance feels so empty and hollow, and thats because of the fact that everything you get is acoustic melodic guitars.

I have never seen a review so wrong about anything until now. This is also my favorite Opeth album too, which makes it even worse.
I'll never understand people who only swear by one musical genre. There's lots of good music everywhere!

Yea, my final legacy to this piece-of-shit site. This was one of my favourite sites of all time. I had a lot of different friends that shared the same music as I liked, but more and more assholes joined the site and my friends got banned or the simply quit visiting the site Feel free to create multiple user-accounts to flame me and this review. I don't fucking care anymore. I'm done with this site. God-like thanks to South_Of-Heaven_11, Shadows, Cravinov_13, Silent_Echo, BallsToTheWalls, Rattlehead and a few others. I hope that you will have a good life ahead of you, but this is my final farewell... Thank you Sputnik music for giving me the opportunity to discover new music and friends... metal will always stand tall m/ m/
