Comparing Dolmayan to Danny Carey is just ridiculously stupid. Dolmayan definitely carry's their rhythm sections quite well and overall, even though he doesn't do anything outside the box, he's still a solid drummer.

he is a very good drummer IMO, although not really comparable to Carrey, who is pretty much a drum god

You all miss the point, John was stated as being one of the best in Alt metal. I simply pointed out that he was not, and gave a few that are. I will say that he is an average drummer, not terrible nor amazingly good, just average.

SOAD songs are always fun as hell to drum to tbh.
If this album didn't have so much filler it would be a borderline 5. I love the opening one-two punch of "Prison Song" and "Needles."

I'll agree with you on that, but I have a crappy electric kit that makes it hard to play heavier stuff. I changed the voice of the hi hat pedal to another kick sound, but since the resistance between the two is off, its hard to get a consistent sound.

when i don't listen to music like this at all for about 10 years now and i go listen to this album again and get sucked right back in....that's a classic for me. I was young but i listened to this album almost everyday the year it came out. it's all the right notes in my mind.
