^Yeah, i'm kinda surprised at how fast the rating for this dropped on here. I remember it being at about a 4 at one point. I think it's honestly a shame that this has the same average on here as The Hawk, since this is clearly a far superior album.

3.4 is a good rating

apparently everyone on this site thinks anything below a 4 is garbage and thats why the ratings here
are overinflated and can't really be trusted

This is actually quickly becoming my favourite Mogwai record. There's not a song on here which annoys me in any way. That's more than can be said for every other Mogwai record. I found Special Moves/Burning really really great too.

For me they seem to be finding a second wind, because Hawk Is Howling disappointed me quite a lot.

Death Rays is great: I love the bit around 1:45 where it just breaks out of its shell!

Finally rated this. I don't get all the hate for "Hawk is Howling", it really grew on me a lot after a

while. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes up to a 4 eventually as well.

So I urge everybody to get a hold of the limited edition version if possible. The extra track "Music for a Forgotten Future (The Singing Mountain)" is IMO better than anything on the original CD (which is still pretty great by itself). Heres a link to the track for y'all who haven't heard it:

Yeah, i got the Limited Edition, too. I listened to that track once; gonna need to give it a few more listens before i can form a solid opinion on it.

And fuck, why is this still at a 3.4 average?! I actually started working on a review for this (would've been my first) and just kinda forgot about it.... i'll try to finish it sometime soon. Hopefully.

An amazing album, you can feel the changes they made in the production. But, there's another review with a 2?! that's just wrong :/

Yeah Youg Team is considered their best album but i didn't enjoy it as much as Happy Songs or this.( Though arguably their best song is on that album)
