That one is next on the list, plus many others of course. Analyzing this type of music is definitely something I can best accomplish in the night.
Not liking this mostly due to just not liking the repeating motif in each song. They all sound a bit plain and bare bones.

Bah, don't rush me. I'll get there soon!
|
| |
i disagree i think this one has a stronger theme and executes it better
some tracks just fuck it up though
|

I really really like the newer album, but you definitely have to be in the right mood to enjoy it. I like a few tracks on this one just as much but Can't Sleep is such a strong listen from start to finish and dark as hell.

i suppose i appreciate the almost callous simplicity of this album

I know it's kind of cliche to think this, but Badman VIP > *

They need to release that VIP right NOW!!! Everytime Youngsta drops it on his Rinse shows I go nuts

What's cliche about it? I generally always prefer the originals
|

I hear people express that opinion all the time, plus it won the DSF awards SOTY by a wide margin.

With good reason though, what a tune!

Yeah, BTW Jash they're never going to release it.

A guy can dream cant he? I could always send Younx a facebook message and ask him for it ;)

That version with Toast as MC gets passed around a lot but there are way cleaner mix cuts you could get, that version is a bit muddy.
Though it sounds kind of wrong to not have "we roll with the deeper minimal sound listen" before the sample.

what are VIP remixes btw?
|
| |
Remixes and VIPs are two separate (but similar) things. VIP stands for variation in production, and
it's when the original producer of the track does a re-work of it instead of it being a different
artist. You wouldn't see something like Kryptic Minds - Badman (Kryptic Minds Remix), it's just
Kryptic Minds - Badman (VIP).
Compared to remixes, they're done much more to be played out in a live setting to surprise the crowd
with a new (and a lot of times bigger) version of a track they know, as opposed to tweaking a track a
bit and then releasing it again.
|
| |
VIP's aren't limited to the original artist. Basically, instead it of it being a remix where it becomes an entirely new song, one aspect of the tune will be changed (tempo, key, add a section maybe) to (like TM said) surprise a crowd who may have gotten tired of hearing the same tune, or to convince a a member of the public to buy a certain comp (but I've already heard all those tracks!)
|
| |
at its roughest idea VIPs are gimmicks that are used live to surprise a crowd then?
