Hated it when I first heard it (early in my music journey) and would infrequently revisit. Over the last year or two I've been listening to the first three albums quite a bit and enjoying them a lot.
I'll poke back in here at a later date - just wasted 10 mins at work trying to expound The Reverend Milo Ruggles' Change of Heart and failed drastically. Must marinate

my first car was a 2005 pt cruiser. the cd player ate a cd one day and would not eject it. the cd was of course Trout Mask Replica. I later sold that car for 3300 bucks to an old Vietnam veteran who made grandfather clocks in his spare time. I told him about the cd and he said it sounded like something his mom would love. his mom was in her late 90s and died only a short time thereafter. good album.
