We can do this the easy way or the hard way ratings were making me feel like i was putting albums into boxes and i hated the feeling. a lot of the time i felt like my ratings were at best arbitrary, and at worst a reinforcement of my initial judgements about albums, forcing me to think about exactly how much i was enjoying music rather than thinking about the music itself. i can only speak for myself but to me it felt like i was always consuming albums and rating them and moving on. i just think it is better to leave things open because my understanding of any particular album is always changing.
tl;dr? i would rather discuss music than try to quantify how good it is.

I understand. I don't rate often for a similar reason I guess. I don't like to give a number to how much I like something. For my main account my ratings are all fucked up cause I don't agree with half of them anymore and I want them gone lol
