I am not surprised that Metallica aren't your thing to be honest. When compared against most of their contemporaries, they pale in comparison - especially when you look at their album production rate and level of technical prowess. Still, they're the first metal band that I truly started listening to, and for that reason they have a special place in my heart.



However, I suspect your son will outgrow this particular phase soon ;) He's got a dad who can educate him in a much broader spectrum of music =)

He gave me a 'home made' copy of Magnetic tour. His stepfather is a metalhead, so my son is not really inclined to listen to my stuff yet haha. He's 13 yo, so he still has all his time. In terms of prog rock, he (thanks to me) loves Rush, UK and Dream Theater, and I (try to) slowly introduce him to Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis and Supertramp. I think his fav bands are Metallica, Iced Earth, Incubus, Linkin Park, System of a Down and stuff.

Answer: NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears. I hated Westlife though, so that's gotta count for something.
