Funny thing is, I can't stomach Hangman's Hymn by Sigh, yet I'm enjoying this one.

That's pretty weird. You should probably love that album if you like this one. Have you heard La Masquerade Infernale by Arcturus?

This band is amazing, can't wait to listen to this album. Infinite from The Serpent's Manifolds is probably my favorite song.

Well if you like The Serpent's Manifold then you'll definitely like this one too. I think it's even better.

Thanks dude. I guess for some people you just have to be in the mood for something weird like this. Kind of like the new Solefald.

Very nice review. I would only add that this is a bit more complex album than its predecessor. It still remains catchy but its complexity/diversity makes it last longer after multiple listens.

I'm pretty sure I'd hate this. Anytime I hear of this band the person talking about them always says something along the lines of: "They're so much like Sigh." And then I check out completely, as Imaginary Sonicscape and Scenes from Hell have scarred me for life.

@ Voivod - Good to hear you're liking this man.

@ Babyss - I did touch on how it's more technical than it's predecessor (more solos, catchier riffs, etc.).

@ Bitchfork - They're as weird as Sigh. It's still creepy and everything, but not as over the top as Sigh. Still I don't think this would be something you would like.

After listening to it the first time I think I like The Serpent's Manifolds better, but this is still good.

The Serpent's Manifold is an excellent album too so I don't blame you for thinking that.

I'm fine with avant-garde metal it just actually has to be avant-garde not a bunch of "campy" genres thrown together.
