Teebs pisses me off because he's nearly as much tycho as he is flylo and when the former is apparent it ruins everything

I like the (possibly sentimental, as far as beat music goes) warmth presiding over everything on this album. that definitely makes him different from flying lotus but its sorta like *robertsona voice* monet painting the same church or haystacks over and over again vs. a more versatile (picasso?) artist: both good, both serving their own purposes. that said I barely know who tycho is so I'm not really responding to the comparison haha

Who is monet and who is picasso in this analogy?

flying lotus is the versatile guy throwing all the shit in the blender, beatlesesque variety/fun narrative to his discog (picasso); teebs is just chillin doing his thing pretty much on repeat (monet)

altho monet was versatile too for sure. I guess I'm just talking about his predilection for the repeated subject. and the feeling of the work being suffused with warmth because of (visual/sonic) texture and stuff. ((although picasso totally had periods where he painted the same thing over and over again...hahaha!!!))

Annica is probably the worst offender for what I was talking about

There are some really good tracks but every other song it's like he decides to do his best impression of being white and having no soul and churns out just the most vapid tycho jams
