Xenophanes: Nope, all the ballads here are actually really good. "Wille Zum Untergang" in particular ranks up there with the best songs they've ever written; I'd even call it better than any of the instrumentals on Precambrian.

A lot of those one were just uninspired, they probably should have scrapped Helio except for a couple songs and just put this out.

The first 3 or so minutes of "Anthropocentric" are what The Ocean should sound like.

For the most part yeah, but The Origin of God is a much better closer than this one, mainly because ending with acapella sounds really awkward and lacking substance.

I actually really love the ending of the album. It's a lot more melancholy, and has a sense of somber inevitability that really fits with the album's concept.
