Melana Chasmata is one of the best metal releases this year, so I need to hear this.

This is less doomy than Melana Chasmata. It's more based on hate and dissapointment. It also has more fast moments.

This is like the only gloom metal album ive ever liked

Anally satisfying cover.
This riffs so fucking hard and i love the ghostlike sounds in shrine. Might eventually bump this up to 4.5

Love the lyrical content as well, Fischer wrote some of the lyrics not long after he left Celtic Frost. They are obviously directed at Sesa. Just look at the lyrics on The Prolonging and that should say enough.

Yeah in the booklet he says he wanted Myopic Empire to be a Celtic Frost song but it wouldn't have fit in, especially with the grand piano section.

Yeah, I love that piano section anyway, adds more depth and fits very well and is quite something surprising, even.

Album Rating: 4.5
Absolutely, it's completely unexpected and adds so much to the song.
